Believe it or not, there are still businesses missing out on the advantages of having a strong social media presence. We live in a time where most people (with money) spend a large chunk of their day on their phones. Besides using the likes of Facebook and Twitter, one must not underestimate the power of WhatsApp. You can have a direct line of communication to your clients to offer support, interact or advertise.

Compared to TV, Radio and print media, Social Media marketing gives you a lot more bang for your buck. Plus, as an added bonus, everything you do is measurable. From demographics to interaction to link/ad clicks. This also means that, with the mentioned feedback, your strategy can be tweaked and adjusted if need be.

Being active on social media will help you increase the amount of traffic that your website receives. Successful social media activities will always improve the amount of traffic referrals your website receives, playing an essential initial role in your sales funnel.

With social media, you build you own database consisting of your target audience. If you advertise in a newspaper you advertise to their database/readership/listenership. Essentially social media marketing can be seen as an investment, the better the company is that you use and the more money you invest, the better your returns will be. There is always the DIY option, but unless you are an expert, you are probably going to miss out on some returns and even risk losing ground on competitors.
